A new online sitcom pilot ‘The Gift That Keeps Giving’ is set to launch on YouTube this month.

Pink Pig Productions, created by Reece Kerridge, has announced it’s sitcom pilot will be released on YouTube on 28 December.

The sitcom was filmed over Zoom with a West End cast starring Jen Caldwell(Six, Shrek)Toni Hargreaves(SohoCinders, Blood Brothers)Chloe Gentles(Avenue Q, Beautiful)Molly McGuire(Fame, Starlight Express)Claire Learie(The Attic, Universal Studios)Jed Berry(The Book of Mormon, Kinky Boots) and Josh St Clair(Frozen, Kinky Boots).

The story follows two best friends, Ellie and Karis, who are having a socially-distanced movie night over the video chat app ‘Mooz’.

The conversation soon becomes about relationships and the boys they are dating however, as excitement builds, things aren’t quite what they seem.

Reece Kerridge, creator of Pink Pig Productions and writer of The Gift That Keeps Giving, said the project was a “happy accident”.

He added: “I sat with Jen and Tori on Zoom workshopping the opening section as a duologue, and when they say great minds think alike, we all just stared at each other and said…this needs to be a sitcom episode!”

Jenna Boyd, co-writer and director of the sitcom, said:
“I couldn’t have wished for a better project and team for my directorial debut.
“It’s made it easier that Reece and I seem to share a brain!” she added.

‘The Gift That Keeps Giving’ will be free to stream on Pink Pig Productions’ YouTube channel from 10am on 28 December.
